IE starts and quits instantly

I am running IE 6.0 I think. Can't check version because it goes away too
quick. This just started happening tonight. I start IE and it goes away

I'm having the same problem. I've run a computer virus scan and an Adaware
scan. No virus, and just 'normal' cookies. I can't get to Tools/Internet
Options in IE to clean out the temp files. HELP! Thanks!

Ad-Aware does not catch everything. You might be infested with malware.

I have attempted allof these fixes as well as scans etc. Still no success, Any updated ideas? Thanks

You can get to internet options from your desktop. Rightclick the ie icon and
select properties ... you could then delete your temp files. Found that while
trying to fix the same problem. Will try some of these other options when I
get home tonight.
 
I went to a computer repair shop and told the technician about my problem and
he
said sounds like a pop up program in action. Came home allowed popups on my
MSN Explorer and Bingo IE works now.
