I was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off that noise
that goes off when you click on a link in IE 6. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. :)

Change or remove the sound.
Control Panel-Sounds
"Start Navigation" and "Complete Navigation" are the relevant items.

Here is what you need to do

Go to Control Panne
Open "Sounds and Multimedia
Under Sound Tab, scroll down and find "Windows Explorer Tab
Under that Tab you will see "Start Navigation
If you IE browser makes sound then there will be a speaker sign displaye
You have to highlight the "Start Navigation" and choose "None" from the sound schemes listed under the "Name" drop down menu. I hope this help. You can write me at (e-mail address removed)

I'm having the opposite problem. I have NO sound... when I try to 'adjust' the sounds for each task I get the following message:

Windows cannot play the C:\WINDOWS\media\chord.wav file. The file may be damaged or may use an unrecognizable compression format. To resolve this problem replace the file or use Add/ Remove Programs in the Control Panel to install Audio Compression.

All the sound files give me the same error. I've checked the Add/ Remove Programs and I'm not finding anything there on installing Audio Compression.

This feature worked just fine yesterday.

Any help would be great!!
