In the last week IE has been running very slow, when
watching the pc performance any time I start the program
or search pages the PC will run at 100%. This has never
happened before. I have all the current updates
including for viruses.
First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
