Running xp SP1 - IE 6.0.2600

my.msn.com is my home page. When i attempt to link to a stock quote,
IE encounters a problem and needs to shut down. This happens even if
I attempt to get a stock quote via moneycentral.com. Everytime I
attempt to link to a quote, I get the same error message.

This happens all the time. Anyone else with the same problem? Is
MSFT aware of this?

Hi Daryl,

A windows update may fix the problem. You have SP1, SP2 has been available
for ages.
Thanks for the suggestion, Rob. While the update may help, this is
only a recent problem. Prior to the past two weeks or so, this was
never an issue.

Hi Again Daryl,

That it has only happened in the past few weeks seems to indicate that it is
site related.
When I visited my.msn.com (I have an account and home page set up) my IE
gave a warning to block Active Content, so I would assume that this (Active
Content) may be a cause.
On my Win2K machine access to my.msn.com is completely different so I
suspect that they are detecting your operating system to redirect entry to
your home page there.

Your home page at my.msn.com is extreemly complex (with all of the
customization and active content options). More than likely this has all
been built with .net framework.
So I highly recommend you obtain service pack 2 and also the .NET Framework
