Hey,
This has been annoying me for some time. I know there's a simple
answer, and I even think I found it thru google once, but I can't
remember or find it again...

My Internet Explorer Desktop Shortcuts keep reverting back to the
generic IE icons - they lose the fancy icons that they used to have -
from the website. The address bar at these websites also no longer
showes the icon - just the IE 'e' . I know I need t clear or delete a
file, and resave the shortcuts, but I can't remember what. I'm no
noobie, but just stumped!!

Favicons are stored in the Temporary Internet files, hence why they disappear
after time.

If you want to save them, try:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm -
Line #108 (right column) FavOrg-restore and save favorite icons

Desktop shortcuts created from Internet Explorer | Right click | Create
Shortcut are.

They were deleted when you emptied your Temporary Internet Files folder.

Read about it here...
[[Favicons are usually lost when you delete your Temporary Internet Files,
but FavOrg preserves them.]]

FavOrg - Restore and Save Favorite Icons
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Direct download of favorg.zip
http://www.gratilog.net/anglais/internet/favorg.zip

These Icons are stored in >>
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
or
C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files

The contents of these files get deleted. Icons revert back to the generic
ugly IE e.

IE | Tools | Internet Options | General tab | Settings button | View Files
button | Scroll down to whatever *.ico files you want to keep | Left click
favicon.ico | Drag to Desktop | Rename to whatever | Store in a folder such
as >> C:\Documents and Settings\YourNameHere\My Documents\ICONS

Open Favorites | Right click whatever item | Properties | Change Icon |
button | Browse button | Click: My Documents or wherever *.ico are stored |
Click whatever *.ico | Open button | OK | Apply | OK
Repeat as necessary.

If you move any *.ico files after customizing your shortcut/favorite, the
icon will revert back to the blue e.

Send some of that water this way.

"Eastern Colorado farmers whose crops are in danger because their irrigation
wells were shut down may be able to restart the wells as early as next
week..."

"About 400 wells in the South Platte River Basin were shut down when the
state engineer issued a forecast anticipating lower-than-average flows in
the river."

Deal in the works on irrigation wells
http://www.greeleytrib.com/article/20060513/NEWS/105130088&SearchID=73244741208557

"About 200 farmers from Platteville north to Greeley and east to Wiggins had
irrigation wells shut down last week by the state..."

"Only an over-abundance of rainfall in the next few weeks could reverse that
situation and chances for that are slim at best. April, historically the
second wettest month of the year on the arid Front Range of the Rocky
Mountains, saw less than a quarter-inch of moisture."

"In an area that averages only about 13 inches of moisture a year, Greeley
has seen less than an inch and three-quarters for 2006, almost 3 inches
below averages."

Water woes impact all of Colorado
http://www.greeleytrib.com/article/20060514/TRIBEDIT/105140067&SearchID=73244741208557

"Help may be on the way for Northern Colorado farmers forced to shut down
their wells more than a week ago."

"The state engineer ordered about 440 irrigation wells shut down after scant
April rains left the area's water supply in danger. Most of the wells sit in
the South Platte River basin from Platteville to Greeley to Wiggins."

"The Weld County Commissioners declared a disaster emergency for the
county..."

"Affected farmers will be waiting. April, traditionally the state's second
wettest month, dropped just .26 of an inch of rain at the University of
Northern Colorado. For the year, Colorado is nearly 3 inches below average."

Water may be closer to serving farmers
