John

I've tried going to an internet address that should
prompt me for username, password and domain name. But my
settings are setup where I only get Username and
password. Where do I go to make that change? I've looked
all over and can't find the setting. If I create a new
connection, there's a setting that allows display DOMAIN
WINDOW. But I'm not making that type of connection. I'm
just putting an address in IE.

thanks for any help,

John

Could you possibly have chosen a more relevant Subject:?

Appended is a previous reply I gave on this matter.

Search my posts with the word backslash for more on the
same subject. E.g. try a Google Groups search with:

My guess is that it is something the site has to do not the
end user. Have you tried entering your userid in the form
domain\userid? Perhaps the application would understand
what the backslash meant and interpret the rest as you intended.

I think that every time I have seen the dialog that you want used
it has been over an encrypted connection (e.g. https) so I haven't
been able to inspect the packets to know how it is done.

In case it helps I had the reverse problem with an OE Account.
I kept getting the dialog you want but OE doesn't have a mechanism
for filling it in (so I was having to logon manually each time).
Then I found out that the dialog was coming up because I was
erroneously using the Log on using Secure Password Authentication
checkbox. Once I unchecked that I was able to use the backslash
syntax I mentioned above.

Good luck
