selection window is blank. No settings ... notta. What the heck over?

Hi John :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which really is a
must when asking for help in the newsgroups, the type of connection you are
using (i.e. Dial-up, DSL, Cable), nor adequate details of your problem, but,
try the following as it may apply to your OS and see if it helps:

Probably something has been changed in your registry to hide it. See this
site for more information:
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/797/
(Delete the entry or change it's value to zero)

or...

If you have used SpyBot's Immunize tool, see this:
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=faq&detail=24
also..
If you are also using Spybot Search & Destroy, open it in mode menu =
Advanced>Tools>IE Tweaks>Uncheck "lock IE control pane...l etc"

also...

Restore All Tabs under Internet Options
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/iegentabs.reg

or...

Otherwise try here
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_fix_inetoptions_restrictions.htm
or....
Re-enable Internet Options:
Line 268. Restore All Tabs under Internet Options
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

also..

Try the three options here and see if it gives you accfess:
Start>Run> type control inetcpl.cpl
Click on Internet Options icon in Control Panel
Press Alt-T,O in IE

and..

Use Regedit.exe and search for NoBrowserOptions and remove it.
It is most likely to be here (but not necessarily)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions
If you are unfamiliar with Regedit, then ensure you know how to
restore your Registry in case of error and it is a good to export any
key before deleting.

This can also be caused by spyware. Work through the steps here to fully
clean your system:

Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Be aware, your Anti-Virus won't detect all types of warez, Trojans, malware,
worms, etc., and neither can other adware or spyware related programs such
as AdAware and SpyBot. They don't have the proper definitions. They must
also be run in Safe Mode with Hidden Files enabled in order to fully scan
all files. Even if you have run such programs and nothing shows up, it does
not mean your system is clean. It takes a series of programs to fully clean
your machine. Some very aggressive and damaging variants of malware can
replicate themselves repeatedly, or mutate, if not removed properly.

Hope this helps.
