IE Security settings not staying

Hello-

I am having a problem on a website where a drop-down menu is not being
displayed, if I go into the Security settings and reset them to Medium
and then refresh the page the menu displays. Once I close the browser
and then reopen it the menu is no longer displayed. I do not have this
problem from any other WindowsXP pc. I am able to recreate the issue on
the "good" pc by disabling either "Run ActiveX Controls and Plug-Ins"
or "Script ActiveX Controls marked for Scripting". Would spyware cause
this?

Do you have Spybot or another anti-malware tool installed?

At this time no. That was to be my next step, but I was wondering if
this sort of thing could be happening due to something like that. It
seems so strange.

Can you provide an example URL?

In which Security zone does this happen? Internet zone? All of them?

After you reset to Medium (from...?), close the window and then open a new
one, has this setting "stuck" or has it returned to the original setting?

Are you running WinXP SP2?
