I have all the latest security patches in WINDOWS XP PRO
but yet I went to a webpage and now when I click search I
get a different search engine named Hot.Com. When I click
customize to select MSN as I have done previously I get
the same window. Can someone tell me how to get rid of
this. Somehow a link I went to changed my search engine
and I can't get it back?

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Hi,

You might start with CWShredder (www.merijn.org). Also, it might be a good
idea to test for adware and spyware by using Spybot S&D (security.kolla.de)
and AdAware (www.lavasoft.de).

Kind regards
