Addit Info:
SW is XP Home version 2002, Serv Pack 3. IE is set up as "no add
ons".Netbook is also quite slow due to limited memory(1Meg/500k Ram) and
speed(1.6 Mhz). Adequate for my limited travel due to size, battery
life,etc.
Slow when reading newspapers on line.

I generally like to get away from IE when I can: it's not that it's a bad
browser, in fact it works with more of the internet than anything else, I
just don't like the extent to which it is linked to the operating system.
You can always keep it there for the (rare) cases when you encounter a
website that won't work with whatever alternative you're using.
FWIW, I'm using a netbook too, and have exactly that - Firefox as my
default browser, IE for if I should need it (which hasn't been for
months - I don't think ever, in fact, on this PC). What do you mean by
"1Meg/500k Ram"? (I have 1M, and can upgrade to 2M - I've got it, just not
got around to it, as I haven't found it irritatingly slow yet.)
