I have a problem with IE crashing. I have restore back as far as I can but it
has not solved the problem. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling
IE, but that does not help. When trying to install the IE 6 using the setup
program, it says that a more recent version has been detected and refuses to
install - even though I have uninstalled it. So much for uninstall!
Anyone have any suggestions other than reinstalling the entire OS?

Hi Pieter :-)

You do not mention what version of Windows you are using, which in such
cases as reinstalling and repairing is very important. If you are using XP,
then you can not uninstall IE, as it is a core part of the XP OS, therefore,
it can't be uninstalled, only repaired.

If you have XP then take a look at the information below. If it is some
other version, please post the version you are using.

Kelly's site has a fix which changes the IsInstalled flag value to 0. =
This enables reinstallation of IE.

Download and double-click [as simple as that]. Now, proceed to =
reinstalling IE.
