IE quits automatically at launch

Hey experts out there ...I need help .. this thing is
driving me nuts...

Recently i'm having problem with my I.E 6. Every time i
launch i.e the program quits automatically after the
homepage is loaded. It doesnt even display any error msg.
I tried changing my home page and still that didnt solve
the problem. I know my internet connection is fine coz
i'm successfully logged on to MSN messenger.

I tried several other things as well like completely
deleting ServicePac1 and reinstalling it but that didnt
help.

Also i tried scanning with a spyware program and that
didnt help to resolve the issue.

So i need help....pls help...

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Sounds like we're having similar problems. I've been
battling this problem for several weeks. I'm helping a
friend with his IE 6 in XP. Have you tried going to
Windows Update? I can get to Update, then go anywhere I
want, but if i try to just click on the IE shortcut (or
the App) it opens to the home page, then closes. I've
tried Spybot and Adaware to remove all the usual trash and
it still is acting up. Any help out there? Thanks!
