Hi

When I try to go to specified address in IE by typing name in address
bar (like www.microsoft.com), IE does not find the address, although it
exists. Then it tries some combinations like www.www.microsoft.com and
www.www.microsoft.com.org,... I use DSL and I'm sure that it's an IE
problem, since all other internet applications work (including IE COM or
ActiveX control used by other applications). What could be the problem? I
tried to reinstall IE through "add/remove windows components" and I also
have SP1 and all latest updates installed. Nothing helps. This problem
actually evolved yesterday, when I installed SP1.

Hi,

You have a DNS problem, your computer doesn't recognize your DNS Server.
Check with ipconfig /all and view if you have DNS Servers. Try in
start->connect to->all connections. Double click your LAN or internet
connection->properties-> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and verify if "Obtain
DNS Servers Automatically" is checked. If this not work, try to configure by
your self selecting "Use the following DNS server address" and put in
"preferred DNS Server" the 200.27.2.2 value.
I'm works fine when not function the DNS Server from my ISP.

If this work...tell me :D if not... too :D (sorry my english)

Hi

I'm sorry, because I forgot to mentione, that it does the same if I
enter IP address directly, for example http://154.224.23.56. I can't event
get to my router through IE. But, I have entered DNS server names in TCP/IP
config long before IE started to malfunction and I never changed them. They
are still the same.

regards,
Tomaz
