Two computers on our home network cannot connect to any webpages via IE. We
have no other browsers and we can ping the sites so dns lookup and internet
works (obviously because I'm posting on the infected computer)
Using Windows 95 (believe SE). Any information pertaining to what virus I
have and how I can remove it would be appreciated.. I removed everything
from startup (hidden files shown) and from
hkey_localsys\\software\\Microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run, run once
and so on. TIA

Please go to McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com/myapps/mfs/default.asp) and/or Trend
(http://housecall.antivirus.com ) and perform and online scan of your platform and report
back your results.

I do believe I stated that http wasn't working and therefor I cannot go to
anyweb pages.

Doh !

Sorry, Well maybe you'll have to install Netscape

ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communicator/english/4.8/windows/windows95_or_nt/base_install/

Then go to http://housecall.antivirus.com in Netscape it will have you download a Netscape
scanner client.

Check the proxy setting under Internet Options/Connections, then the
connection you use for internet (or Lan).
