Hi Steve,
I am running Windows 2000 SP3, Internet Explorer 6, and I have used KB199292 to
configure Internet Explorer to open multiple JPEGs in the same Internet Explorer
window. For the file extensions in question, did you check to make certain the Use
DDE section matches the values given in KB199292?
NOTE: Since KB199292 was written for Win9x, some steps are incorrect.
Step 1: "Folder Options on the View menu" should read:
Folder Options on the Tools menu
Step 2: "and then click Edit" should read:
click Advanced, select Open, and then click Edit

: The checkbox labeled "Reuse windows for launching
: shortcuts" is already checked...Any other ideas? The
: problem is the same as described in MS Article 199292, but
: Microsoft provides no fix for the problem for W2K/IE6.

:| IE 6.0 starts new instance for every .gif or .jpg file I
:| open until the maximum number of IE instances is reached.
:| Others, running IE6 on W2k can open multiple pages within
:| the same IE instance. MS Article 199292 talks about this
:| problem but it does not apply nor can I adapt it to work
:| for W2K and IE6.
