ie opens but wont work

when i open I. E. when i try anything i get PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED.in " my
computer" favorites work fine but not with program files or short cut.
any help would be appreiated

Same problem - only yahoo and google are the only
websites you cant use the links on. 1 windows xp user
account works for these sites though - out of 5.
Internet tools settings are all the same on both. Any
suggestions would help.
