IE open by itself with adverdtisments

something has hijacked IE, I cannot stop IE from opening up with a
strom of advertisments. I have disabled activeX controls
set my security settings to there highest, Scaned for viruses, run
spybot, ad aware, free surfer
Nothing works
I looked in control pannel/add remove for suspicious programs and found
none.
Anybody have sugestions?
