I'm not sure if this is the group for this problem, but I have been trying
to find the answer to this questions for weeks now.
I have an XP SP2, with all updates, running ASP.NET on it.
I have a simple .net page that does nothing but return from a button and
display a message on the screen (response.write). I also have trace set to
true.
This is all happening on this machine.
I access the page with IE and the initial screen comes up. I press the
button and the initial screen comes up (again and again ...).
I know that it is not getting to the button event.
I also have Netscape and Mozilla on the same machine and they have no
problem at all.
If I use IE from another machine access this one, it works fine also. The
problem is only with IE on this machine. IE works in all other respects.
No other problems with this XP.
I can still develop as long as I only use Mozilla or Netscape for testing
( or IE from another machine).
I have security set to low, allowing everything through.
I thought about re-installing IE, but I'm not sure I can ( or should).
Anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks,
Tom.
