Running windows xp - just replaced HDD and motherboard and reinstalled win xp.
Now there is no IE listed in the programs menu. I did delete MSNIE because I
only use the basic IE. (never had this trouble when I delted the buttefly
before). Did try reinstalling IE 6 but it said it was already there and
would not install. Now the only way to get onto the internet is to use the
windows
updata shortcut and then go to the site I want. HELP

Hi Dee :-)

You're just fine. IE is a core part of XP, not a separate program. Thus,
it does not show up as a separately installed program in the Add/Remove
Programs list. It's there. Just click the IE icon on the desktop or systray
and it should open.

Also be aware, you cannot uninstall IE for the same reason, that it is a
core part of XP, thus, you can only do a repair or reinstall with XP.

Hope this helps

Jan :)
