I have recnetly had some visues/adware and i have cleaned those out, but now
I am having problems with IE. For one this i cant even go this this newsgroup
with it. (im using firefox to type this message) What I have found is that
javascrript isnt really working, and I cannot sign into .net passport on any
site using IE. However the biggest problem is that I cant go to window
update. Nothing loads when i got there with IE and firefox isnt support. I
can go to sites like google.com cnn.com etc, just not sites with java [im
fairly sure of this] How do i fix my IE?

Also my windows media player is messed up as well. It wont run. wmp10 dinnt
run so i rolled back to wmp9 and that wont run either. I posted that into
the forum for wmp, but since it probably related if someone knows the answer
please post it here.

1. You might want to refresh your scripting engine:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/nhp/default.asp?contentid=28001169
or

Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

2a. Start>Run>Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

2b. Start>Run>Regsvr32 jscript.dll

(WinXP users who have problems with 2a and 2b, see
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_9.htm)

3. Re-register all DLLs listed in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

4. See also

5a. IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Browsing>Enable third-party browser
extensions (uncheck & reboot).

5b. Find the hijacker that caused 5a to be checked (or if none were checked,
check for hijackware anyway):
