Hi people.

This is something starting to bug me. Seemingly at random, Internet Explorer
has stopped loading anything I ask it to load. That includes remote sites,
Windows Update, or sites on my own copy of IIS...

I've tried disabling ZoneAlarm, Avast, closed MSN Messenger (which works
fine incidentally) restored IE's factory settings, ran AdAware and reset my
PC countless times.

I ran regsvr32 on a series of DLL files as suggested several times around
the web. I tried running sfc /scannow as suggested on the MS KB but that
hasn't helped. I tried uninstalling a WU which is known to break IE, that
didn't help. I tried upgrading to IE7, that didn't help.

I've started up Ethereal to see what's going through the network, and
NOTHING happens when I try to access a page in IE. I try in Forefox, and I
get masses of TCP activity as you'd expect. Also my firewall is showing no
signs of IE trying to get through. It's clear to me that IE isn't even
trying to access the interweb.

Anyone got any other ideas? I haven't even installed anything new
recently...

Oh and Firefox still works fine... I only need IE for WU and my online
banking!

Thanks.

Nice to know someone is having the same problem as me. It seemed to occur at the point firefox migrated the bookmarks from ie6. If anyone does have a fix for this please get back to me
