I have an HP with IE 6.0 browser. After surfing the web
for just a few minutes, it is beginning to just freeze up
and tells me that Internet Explorer is not responding and
to send an error report. I've been working on this
problem for two days now, and any help would be greatly
appreciated!

what error is it giving you. give number or copy the info
out of the "Event Manager" and post that.

This is not enough info on your system.

OK. This is the message. Everything freezes up and I have
to push ctrl alt delete just to get anything to happen.
At that time, the "End Program" box comes up that
says "This program is not responding". So I click "end
now" and a box comes up that says "You chose to end the
nonresponsive program, Internet Explorer. The program is
not responding. Please tell Microsoft about this
problem." Then I click on "Send error report". In the
technical box, the Error Signature has szModName:
hungapp. There are no error numbers and I can't copy the
info. I have windows xp. I don't know where "event
manager" is.

I've been having this same problem since I installed IE
6.0 SP1. But I am running Windows 2000 with Office XP.
It is very annoying and have spent endless hours. But the
same things happens...It appears to happen more when the
pop ups are opening and I try to do anything. And I agree
with most on this newsgroup that Microsoft is no help. I
can't believe no one has not complained about this enough
that there isn't anything in the support knowledge base.
If I find out more I will post it and please do the same.
I tried posting something a few months ago and gave
up...hoping some type of service pack or hot fix would
come out.
