IE not loading one certain webpage.

Anthony Harris

I use my desktop computer, running XP Pro, to share a DSL
line with my laptop. The shared line uses XP's built in
firewall. I use norton antivirus.

My desktop can not load www.ingdirect.com but my laptop
can.

All other website, as far as I can tell, work fine on
both computers.

I have tried other browsers and even IP-Tools. From the
desktop the website is un reachable from the laptop it
loads.

All settings are identical on both computers in the IE
settings and the TCP/IP settings.

I reset all setting to defaults. I've un install IE and
reinstalled it. I turned off the firewall for testing.
I've loaded only minimal startup with msconfig.

I've done everything I can think of and I still can not
load that web page....can anyone offer any ideas for me
to try.

Thanks

Anthony,
Below is what I get ......

Fetching http://www.ingdirect.com/ ...

HTTP/1.0 302 Object moved
Location: http://home.ingdirect.com/promo/userkey_set.asp

So it's actually redirecting to the above URL.
Internet Options | Security [tab]
Click: "Default Level" or "Custom Level" and select:
"Allow META REFRESH", click Apply\Ok and restart

Thanks for the reply Mike! Just to let everyone know I did fix my
problem with the FixWinsock.exe program that is linked in many
messages in this group.

(BTW using a newsreader to respond. This is Anthony Harris)
Cheers

Bob

This (fix winsock) newsgroup has helped me fix a 3 month old problem that
occured when I did a fresh install. I couldn't get weather.com to load and
it progressed to other web pages. VERY, VERY FRUSTRATING. The fix winsock
file did it in 20 seconds. Thanks
