IE not connecting properly

Hi Folks,
Yesterday IE6 (running XP Pro) has failed to connect properly to Windows
update- just get a blank display with "Done" at the bottom, doesn't show
some fields on a Web Page- when attempting to make a purchase at Symantec
only portions of the shopping cart appear, trying to use the MS Knowledge
base the drop-down boxes appear in the search form- but there's nothing "in"
them, Start/Help and Support does not open (I'm assuming that WinXP uses IE
to display this app).
I'm assuming that this may be a corrupted file. Any ideas as to the
cause and solution would be greatly appreciated!!
BTW, I also have Mozilla installed and it seems to be functioning
properly.

Hey War,
Thanks.... followed the bulletin, but actually had to do
an XP install over the existing one. Something deep in XP
apparently got hosed.
Anywho, alls back to normal
