Hello, I was using Internet explorer sp1 (XP sp2) when suddenly i received
blue screen saying there was some memory dump problem or what-not, it didnt
stay long before the computer automatically restarted. after this, whenever i
open IE it just freezes the entire computer, with the exception of the mouse
which is basically useless if the computer is frozen. i tried reinstalling
it, i tried upgrading to version 7, i tried uninstalling it completely and
then reinstalling it and nothing works. no other program on my computer has
this problem. im forced to use the Opera browser now which is nothing to be
proud of. i really would like to avoid reinstalling windows/reformating,
anyone know how i can get around this? thanks.

No one can solve a problem when the description is "some memory dump
problem or what-not". We need to know the error number (begins with
0x000...) and/or the name of the error (LOOKS_LIKE_THIS).

To obtain that information you need to prevent Windows from re-starting
after a crash, so you can read the information from the blue screen. Do
that as follows:

Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery - Settings
button > System Failure section - remove the checkmark from
'Automatically restart'.

Try system Restore to an Earlier Date before the *Accendent* take place?.
