pe someone can help!
Am running ME and have half of IE6 installed. Normally connect using
broadband (Tiscali), sometimes dial-up (Freeserve aka Wanadoo). Have
reinstalled AOL so can have web access to resolve the following problem.
Basically I cannot get finish loading IE6, this at the part when it seeks
sites to download the full software. I have "ie6setup" and when using the
wizard (via Run) get to the point of connecting to websites and then the PC
fails to connect. Have had one partial download with Broadband disconnected.
Old versions of IE also do not connect. I know the broadband is working as
the wireless router is working for my old and slow laptop.
This could be a problem of with some sort of system dial up connection
within this PC, that which would instruct the PC to open up a live IE
connection.
Having transferred IE6 files from my laptop I can get the IE browsing screen
open (IEXPLORE.EXE) but the page doers not connect.
Am not sure if a fully successful ie6 load will resolve the problem...as I
think some past virus in conjunction with removing Zone Alarm may have
something to do with this.
Any expertise very gratefully appreciated - please!
Thanks
John
Ps Have reloaded AOL & ME (Freeserve/Wanadoo will not reload as it
recognises IE as only partially installed)
