Is there anyway to specify "No Text Label" for the Links
Toolbar? Ideally, I'd like the General tab to accept a
blank string, since I have favicons for most, but not all
of the links on my Links toolbar.

Links in links toolbar are just favorites in a special
place. they need a title. use dot or comma or some
small single letter character.
I use favicon "M" with text "y" for for "My" stuff sites.
Found one favicon with "news" text and use it with dot
for all my news sites.

I guess this is a short-coming of IE...it seems to defeat
the purpose of favicons. It's a bit silly to have to
enter a semi-colon or apostrophe after a boxed G icon for
Google or an Onion icon for theonion... I was hoping that
there was a trick, such as typing ALT-NUL, but I imagine
that there isn't.

favicons are used for enhancing the website appearance.
it is not intended to replace the site name. Links bar
is also just a fancy Favorites sub-link and you still
need names for the favorites without favicons.

You could try this as a name...

While holding down the [Alt] key on the keyboard,
tap the following keys on the NUMERIC keypad...

0
1
6
0

Now release the [Alt] key.

You now have a single "space" character name.

For the second name, you will need two of these
[Alt]+[0.1,6,0] "space" characters.

For the third name, you will need three of these
characters, etc.
