IE launches automatically at 3:38pm every day

I've noticed this recently after uprading from WINME to XPPRO SP1. At 3:38pm
every day IE (v6) automatically launches. I have no idea why. Does anybody
have any suggestions that may help fix this problem?Thanks for your thoughts!

I'd look at the "Scheduled Tasks" folder. Is there such a task in that
folder? If so, delete it, because that is precisely what is causing the
situation.

The first suggestion you got was correct (malware.)


Another less sinister answer might be found in the Scheduled tab
of the IE Synchronization Settings dialog. ;)
(Keystrokes: Alt-T,S,Alt-e,Ctrl-Backtab)


Is it really XPsp1 that you have or do you now have XPsp2?
In either case check the Automatic Updates dialog.
E.g. Run... (press Win-R and enter:)

control wuaucpl.cpl
