IE Keeps Shutting Down

As soon as a pop up window appears, I get an error message
that Internet Explorer needs to shut down. I downloaded
all updates and cleaned out all temp files. Any
suggestions?

There's a good possibility that this is being caused by a third-party
program (adware, spyware, parasite).
