Hi,
I tried the Windows update site for updating and for checking the file
system I did sfc/scannow. Now Microsoft providing, online check up on the
OS
and its (Microsoft) components for any change or corrupt of the file. But
for this, I have to use IE only. Since my IE is not working, I couldn't
do
anything. Online checkup is very good option and only available for
genuine
products.

Hi Julie
You said you had tried to update/upgrade the software but it didn't allow
it. How are you trying to update/upgrade the s/w? Are you doing a repair
or
reinstall of the OS? What is the exact wording of the error message(s)
you
are getting when it won't allow it?
