The other day I downloaded updates from my Windows XP automatic downloading
which were downloaded after I shut down my PC (sorry I can't explain it very
well- don't even know what the downloads were for!) and ever since then on my
account of the computer (I am administrator) the IE works either extremely
slow or not at all or only showing a white window, on the other accounts the
IE works fine and normal.

Can anyone help out there??
Thank you

1. You can't possibly download anything while the computer is shut down.

2. You are probably infested with malware.
Systematically go through the steps at this site:
