IE Inserting Characters Before URL?

Ben

Hi,

I'm having a strange (and annoying) problem with IE. If you mis-type a url,
for some reason it puts "/?%20" at the start of the url, so you might end up
with something like http:///? www.gooogle.com, so rather than just
deleting the extra 'o' you have to delete the strange charactors at the
front of the url as well. I've never seen this before.
Anyone know whats going on?
I'm running IE6 (v 6.0.2800.1106), SP1, & Win2k SP4 with all the current
hotfixes.

Cheers

Ben

Use this registry fix:

After downloading, right-click and merge.

Ah its spyware is it, I have lavasoft's ad-aware on this PC, thought that
would pick up any spyware, maybe it needs updating.

Thanks for the help

Upgrade to Ad-Aware SE, seek updates, reconfigure per Post #2 in
http://aumha.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5877 (also see #4 about TweakSE),
then scan using Custom Scanning option; Fix all found.

If you're not running the latest version of an anti-malware tool, with the
latest reference files (definitions) installed, you're wasting your time
IMO.
