As a beginner with Frontpage 2003, I have built a couple of small web sites
that run on my computer disk. The problem is, when I open the sites with IE,
I always get an Information Bar saying that IE has "restricted this file
from showing active content that could access your computer".

I am not aware of any active content in my little web sites. Why is this
happening?

Thanks, Robert

I did not insert any web components. Is that what you mean?

Robert

Whoa, I found it. I was using Interactive Buttons which, it seems, use Java.

Robert

Not Java ---- Javascript - (not the same thing as Java, and they are not
related - only the similar name which confuses people.). Javascript is
"active content".

If you publish the site(s) the error about blocking active content will no
longer appear.

FP 2002 had Java Applet buttons, but FP2003 does not - one reason being I
think, is Windows XP doesn't come with JVM by default, and FP2003 is
designed for XP/2000 and runs only on those two O/S.
