IE in Windows 98SE won't close browsing windows

Iexpore pops-up when trying to close a browsing window
while on the internet and states that this program has
oerformed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
refers to module BROWSKUI.DLL in detail log. Any info
available?? Aloha.
