I'm basically a newbie at this, but I'm trying to install
Bellsouth Fast Access DSL on my computers at home. I"m
getting there, but when I launch to go to the Web, I
click my IE icon on the desktop, and that's where the
problem starts. I have an HP Pavilion mx 75 running XP,
with pre-installed software. HP set up the default Home
Page as theirs. I'm pretty sure I can change it, and I
want to because theirs doesn't have an address window,
only a Search window so even if I have a URL I want to
paste in to go to a site (like Monster.com) I have to go
through the seach. I've wandered around the MS site
looking for an answer, with no luck, and HP tells me to
contact MS. Can anyone send me the link I need to put in
as my default Home Page to get the normal IE page when I
start up. Any help is appreciated!

Time to start getting familiar with the options for IE (as you always have
to do for any application you use).

Tools -> Internet Options

You set your home page there.

Hi,

What do you mean by "no address window"? Maybe no address bar? View,
Toolbars, Address bar.

As for the start page: Tools, Internet Options, Home Page: Address.

about:blank might be a good idea...

Kind regards

Greg,
Close all instances of IE except one
Right-click on the top Toolbar, uncheck: "Lock the Toolbars"
Place the cursor over the "Address" button and click (hold down)
It will change to a 4-way arrow, move or expand the Address Bar to desired
location
Right-click on the top Toolbar, check: "Lock the Toolbars"
Hold down the Ctrl key and close IE
