I use Nortion System Works 2004 and can not eliminate
all of the Internet History Files. Using Fast and Safe
Cleansweep it shows there are three files remaining and
they keep growing in size. I have gone to Internet Options
and cleaned all off line content. I have clean all caches
and was told by symatec to come here and find out how to
erase the IE Index.dat file. They said it was remaining
Open under XP and need to get the Big Boys to tell me how
to delete it.
Thanks

I am using CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com

Thanks Don, I'll give it a try. I have plenty of space on
my HD, I am just determined in getting this deleted. Been
trying for months, even re-formated a few times. Thanks

I have the same problem have you gotten it fixed yet if
so can you tell me how you did it. Thanks

To clear out or empty the files try this. Reboot into the safe mode command
prompt. Hit enter. On next page also hit enter. Next you will see two pages
of gibberish. Next you get your sign on. Sign on as administrator. This
brings you to the command prompt. At the prompt enter CD\. This get the
directories for the C drive. At the next prompt type del index.dat /s. This
willclear out all sorts of history and crap. Finally at the next and final
prompt type shutdown /r. This brigs you back to the computer rebooting
normally.
