My question/problem is; how do I get the History folder in my Internet
Explorer browser to show my browsing history? I have been to
internet/tools/options/history/days in folder, and set it to several
different day limits but it will only show "today". I run WinXP IE 6.0. Any
help out there?

Hi wondering :-)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Be sure that the Autocomplete is turned on:
Tools>Internet Options>Content>check AutoComplete
and
How to use the AutoComplete feature in Internet Explorer 5 and 6:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=217148

History pane in Internet Explorer is blank;
http://www.winxptutor.com/historyblank.htm

and....

IE not keeping my History

Turn off the ActiveX part of McAfee's Internet Filter
If you have McAfee AV running:

McAfee gave this solution to the bug where VirusScan 6 stops your Internet
Explorer History file working.

Open VirusScan console
Select "Pick a task..."
Select "Change my VirusScan settings"
Select "Configure VShield background scanning"
Select "Customise your VShield settings"

Select the "Internet Filter" icon from the icons down the left hand side On
the "Detection" tab, in the 'Applet filters' section, remove the tick next
to "ActiveX Controls".

If still no joy..........

Run regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Microsoft|Internet Explorer|Main

and insure that Save_Session_History_On_Exit is marked YES and not NO. (I
just checked mine, and it is set to NO by default).

Also try..:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software|Microsoft|Internet Explorer|TypedURLs

or.............

It could be that the History folder has become damaged or corrupted, try
deleting the folder, then reboot and a new one will be created.

For XP follow the instructions at Mike Burgess' site
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
To delete the History folder and index.dat (XP)

Log on as Administrator and delete the desired <username> folder and reboot.
(or log on as another user that has Administrator privileges)
Example: "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\HISTORY"

Hope this helps.

double click it the window shows no. Do I just type yes in the box?

Yes...but first, make a backup of your Registry before you make any change.
How to backup the Windows XP Registry
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm

Then click go to the file, double click on the file in the right panel and a
box will come up and in the window will the the word no. Just replace the
word with yes and click OK, then ok out.

Then type in some websites that you know are good links and see if they are
saved. I may take a little while for you to be sure the History is now
working.

Hope this helps.
