ie has encountered..and must close...

I have IE6 and am getting buried with this message. I
forward all info to microsoft but problem continues. I
have downloaded latest IE to no avail. PLEASE HELP I
cannot get anything done on the computer!

On what page are you when the problem comes up?

Can you give the exact error message?

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit is with this tool.

I had the same problem. In my case, it was caused by a

software conflict. A program had inserted itself in my
start-up group and IE6 would not open. I removed all
unknown/unneeded items from stsrt-up, rebooted, and IE6
opened and runs perfectly. I hope this helps.
