IE hangs when logging out of Hotmail

When I log out of my hotmail account, Internet Explorer hangs up. I have had
this happen only once before. I thought it was just a clitch. I then
downloaded new updates for IE. Now this problem is pretty constant.

This has also been happening to me, beginning on July 24. Every time that I
try to sign out of my hotmail account, Internet Explorer hangs up. I notice
that across the bottom it says, Third Party Cookie search, when Internet
Explorer is crashing. I have reported this each time and followed the
suggestions I was given, such as scanning my computer for viruses and looking
for unusual add-ons, but all seems normal. I did not download the update that
was suggested because I already had this update.

It's happening to me with Hotmail as well.
GMail and Yahoo are OK, but Hotmail has been playing up for 3 days now.

Me too. I own an Internet Cafe with mahines running Windows XP SP2, Windows
98 and Windows NT. All the machines are doing it. I am ready to kill
whoever is responsible. It is UTTERLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND IRRESPONSIBLE for
them to make whatver change they have made during the last few days (which
have caused this problem) without testing it properly.

Just to let you know... Use Netscape. This problem doesn't happen if you
use netscape (probably other browsers too. This is no good for me, however,
as my customers don't want to use Nestcape.

This is just like what happened, a few months ago, when they modified the
hotmail site to automatically start MSN Messenger when the user logged on.
All the machines started to freeze if MSN messsnger was not already running.
I e-mailed them and, after a few days, they got back to me claiming that the
poroblem was fixed - which it most certainly was not! I had to work out the
solution for myself.

HOTMAIL / MSN / WHOEVER YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. YOUR QUALITY CONTROL AND
TESTING IS APALLING.

How does this all work? I'm new to all of this. Does MS notify us of a fix or
are we to just keep looking for solutions on our own? I've tried all the
solutions that they have suggested.
Also the last time I shut down I got a pretty scary message that said my
computer was being shut down to protect it from being damaged. I don't know
if this is related or not. I've always had a firewall and I run regular scans

As of yesterday the freezing issue has become rampant with our users ( over
1000 ) this error occurs during sign-out of Hotmail only. You have to kill
IE. The CPU usage is at 50 - 99 %. This occurs on 2000, XP SP1 and SP2
regardless of the security updates and patches. Does anyone know how to
contact someone at MSN Hotmail or IE as it seems there has not been an answer
to this thread?
Thanks
