I'm running XP. Within the past 4 days (I believe since I
downloaded the IE6 update, but I could be wrong), IE has
started hanging at pretty frequent intervals, for periods
from 5 seconds to 30 seconds, and sometimes freezing
altogether. This has nothing to do with the site I'm
visiting, I think, but just happens at random, frequent
times.
Additionally, a few other issues have developed in that
time: All of my IE shortcuts were eliminated (including
Start Menu and QuickBar); the log-in screen was re-
instituted (as if my preferences in TweakUI were blown
away - I've gone back into Tweak and hopefully that will
fix it); and, most disturbing of all, CTRL-ALT-DELETE no
longer takes me to the Task Manager - it takes me to that
strange screen from Windows 2000, the one with "Log
Off", "Lock Computer," "Shut Down," "Task Manager," etc.
Please help! How can I fix this? I wouldn't mind any of
the other stuff if IE didn't hang so frequently.
Thanks,
Josh
