IE hangs accessing files

Hi,
The article states that the XP SP2 update fixes this in Windows XP. Are you
still running XP SP1?

Thanks. I have Windows 2000 and am running the latest service pack.

I contacted Dell because Microsoft said I had to since IE was pre-installed
by Dell, but they had no idea of what I was talking about........

Hi,
Check the "Files for Windows 2000" section of that article and if you don't
have the updated version of those files, you should call MS for the fix.

If you do not raise any other issues and if it's determined that the fix
listed in that article will resolve this problem for you, you will not be
charged for this support - other than the cost of the phone call.
