IE gradually slowing down until nothing loads

My IE just keeps getting slower and slower from when I
first start using it. It is really fast at first but then
all of a sudden the pages just take for ever to load and
then all of a sudden I just get error pages. I tried to
lower the MB of pages stored. Lowered the cache of
cookies and others to try and keep it from slowing down
but nothing works. Anyone have any suggestions.

I have W2K and IE 6 on a dial up. (I know the dial up
isn't the problem because my other computer works fine on
the same line.)

Can some one give me a hand?

Sorry I don't have any solutions, but if it is any
consolation, the same thing often happens to me, and I
have a 600 Mb broadband connection! What's more, I have
another computer which shares the same broadband
connection via a router, and it works fine. So I would
also be interested in any suggestions.
I have Windows Me on the computer with the problem, and 98
on the one that's OK.

Add me to the list -- Win98, IE6. I run AdAware and SpyBot to keep
the spyware cleared out, delete the temporary files, clear the cache,
frequently run repair on IE, etc. I keep my antivirus updated, run
full system scans a couple of time per week, scandisk and defrag
monthly. In following some of the suggestions that may apply to my
system and checking suggested config options and finding nothing
wrong, it is most frustrating to have this problem continue to happen.

I maintain one of the Yahoo groups and do quite a bit of moving from
page to page. Page changes are typically very fast for about 6-10
changes, then they rapidly bog down to timeouts and "Can't finds".
Sometimes I can get a couple more pages by clicking the Refresh button
after the progress bar fills about one-fourth the box, but what works
more often is to click Stop, then Back, then try for the next page
again. By the time the slowdown reaches this point it is actually
faster to just reboot.

For email, change the 3 to E.

Sorry, don´t have any solution since I'm expereing the same problem. Getting
very irritated by this. My broadband worked fine the first couple of months
but now i'm almost down to modemspeed. Frustrating.
