Hi,

I'm running WinXPHome, SP2, all the updates, etc. and IE6.0, SP2.

Lately (and I think it's after a recent automatic update), my IE has been
going into Full Screen View by itself. I don't know if it happens when
it's first launched, or after it's been open for a while in normal view.

I've done a restore, but no joy.

Is there a registry setting I can examine?

Thanks,
Bruce

Have you been pressing F11 by accident? Perhaps you should
clean your keyboard? Etc. <eg>

After you use Restore (e.g. Alt-Space,R) close the window
and verify that it was the last IE window open. E.g. enter Task Manager
(press Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and verify that there is no running instance of
iexplore.exe in the Processes tab.

Now launch About:Blank from the Run... dialog
(e.g. press Win-R and enter that.)

Is the resulting window in Normal mode?

No. It's stored in a binary string.

Thanks,
Bruce

Good luck

Hi, Robert,

Thanks for the reply. I googled and found some information:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Row 231, right-hand column

http://www.theeldergeek.com/run_explorer_full_screen.htm

However, before trying either one, my 14-year old son came in and said,
"Oh, yeah, Dad, you're in Full Screen."

And you're right. I didn't know F11 was a toggle for Full Screen. Turns
out I hit the key when I was vacuuming my keyboard, and didn't notice it.
