IE gets "page can not be displayed" message from any home page" when connecting

I have 2 PCs one is a dektop, one is a laptop. They are
connected via a wireless network connection. When I start
IE on the laptop, the desktop dials the ISP as it should.
IE times out and displays "Page can not be displayed"
message. Any Ideas.
