IE FTP Download lost after timeout

IE FTP Download lost after timeout, i cannot find the temp file nor folder
but the file was over 1 gig in soze and the free space on my extended
partition has reduced. where on the can i find the folder so i can recover
this ghost or phantom file?
 
it just occured to me via the windows explorer i wont find it but for some
reason via the old fashion dos command prompt.
