IE Freezing - Need HELP

I have a Dell Smart Step 200N, Windows XP Home Edition, and IE 7.0.6

At random times and quite frequently my IE freezes up, gives me an error
message and says it needs to shut down. The error signature says:

Event type: InPageError P1: c000009c P2: 00000003

The technical data says:

C:\docume~1\chip\locals~\temp\wer38c5.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdmp
C:\docume~1\chip\locals~\temp\wer38c5.dir00\appcompat.txt

I've checked these files on several occasions and all stays the same except
the part starting with wer. The alphanumeric is different but it always
starts with wer and ends with dir00.

Is there anything anybody can suggest I do with this computer to fix it?
I'm about ready to throw it out the window.

1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode?

To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode:

Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or

Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No
add-ons).

2. Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?

3. If you uninstall (a) IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), (b)
all toolbars and (c) all third-party Windows Themes (including Window
Blinds) and don't reinstall IE7, does this behavior persist?

Locate these Dum files/folders and delete them, you can use this tool to
clean up:

dump
C:\docume~1\chip\locals~\temp\wer38c5.dir00\appcompat.txt <- delete this
dump text.

Also try to check for malware and viruses on your system.
Go through these cleaning steps to see or get a clear opinion on how
clean your machine is:
= Click Start >> Control Panel>>Network and Internet Connections >> Double
click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced.
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
[ ] Disable script Debugging (internet Explorer) <= check this box
[ ] Disable Script Debugging (Other) <= check this box

Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

Run disk cleanup and Defrag inn Safe mode.
Open a run command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] you may need your XP CD installation media to
accomplish this operation!.

Just curious, does your machine get Overheated or Hot recently, do you smell
a burning smell out of your computer?.
