Hello;
Ikeep having problems with IE.
Consistently when I open a couple or few windows quite often my computer freezes. This happens very often and right before it happens my mem usage seems to spike.
Then, for a short period of time if I openned the task manager I would find two versions running even though I had only opened one window. this recently stopped but now I have been finding the Windowsupdate4 running two operations.

can anyone help - I am getting sick of my computer crashing all the time.
thanks

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.

Hey Frank, thanks for the reply. I ran AdAware and HijackThis and did find some issues that have now been corrected. The number of times my computer freezes is definitely down but I am still having a problem with freezing on occasion, usually when I have a few things running like plam software with outlook and word. It does seem to happen after I have shut down IE.

can you think of anything else?

thanks
Sarah
