My Internet Explorer freezes for about 30 sec to 1 min at
startup, then functions normally after that. With every
new window I pull up, it does this.. but if a link opens
a new window.. it does not do it.
I have a 2.4 Ghz P4, so IE has never taken but a few
seconds to open in the past.
My sister recenly left ad windows open, which installed
all kinds of ad-ware on my comp. But I uninstalled them,
and used a program to rid my computer of them.. They are
all gone, but IE still lags at startup...
the message at the bottom says "download from site:
http://www.yahoo.com" which is my homepage.
thanks..

Hi Brett,

First, scan your system for spyware and eliminate them.

SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for Spyware and Adware
http://security.kolla.de/

&

Adaware (similar)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
(Remember to perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed)

If the problem persists, disable the browser helper objects using BHODemon.
You will know what each subkey represents:
BHODaemon:

Thanks for you help, but this did not fix my problem.
SpyBot and Ad-aware found nothing, and BHODemon only
found my Norton and Adobe Acrobat BHO's.

I disabled third-party browser extensions, and it fixed
nothing as well...
Once again, thanks for all your help...
Brett
