I have tried searching for a solution to this problem but cant seem to find
any answers. My Favorites menu is greyed out and all the favorites gone. I
can find the folder with all the favorites in the folder, but access is gone
from ie 6. Whats really strange is that if I sign in as administrator all
works fine, but if I sign in as a user the favorites menu is gone. If I try
to add a favorite it does not work. The favorite menu that pop's up on the
left of my browser page is a big grey box (the same grey as for instance the
tool bar is at the top of the browser. I am using windows xp home and ie 6 if
anyone can help I would very much appreciate it!!

I have just had the same thing happen to me. This then developed into
a major crash with IE6 now unusable. It hangs up everytime I try to
use the favourites menu.
System Doctor etc tell me the History folder is corrupted which is
causing a fatal disc error.
I am wondering if there is a way to uninstall and re-install IE6?
All the computer experts I have spoken to in local shops are saying the
only way out is to reformat drive C and reinstall windows from sratch.
(which always seems to me the lazy way out for them)
HELP!
