IE Explorer won't start

I am running windows xp sp-2. My internet explorer 6.0
will not open. All I get when I double click the icon is
an hour glass for a moment. Can anyone help.

I had the same problem.
For a unknown reason the services were changed.
I changed them back and IE works fine.

I had the same problem
After a very long search without result I looked to the "services".
For some unknown reason some services were changed, so I changed them
back to the original values.
